What stays on your device

Blind Mode settings, temporary and permanent muted phrases, Search Studio recipes, usage counters, and other extension preferences are stored in your browser. Visible X page content is processed locally to provide the features you enable.

What the service receives

• An anonymous extension account identifier and authentication token.
• Your subscription tier and billing-customer identifiers, but not your card number.
• Feature votes you submit and ordinary request metadata needed to operate and protect the service.
• If you save Self Profile tests: your X handle, derived test results, and your choice to keep each result private or publish it. Questionnaire answers are scored for the request but are not retained.

How data is used

Data is used only to authenticate the extension, enforce plan access, process subscriptions, save and display optional Self Profile results, count roadmap votes, prevent abuse, provide support, and keep the service working. XButBetter does not sell personal data, build advertising profiles, or use browsing content for advertising.

Payments and external pages

Subscription checkout is handled by a payment provider. XButBetter receives subscription status and customer identifiers, while payment-card details stay with that provider. When you open X or web search results, those sites apply their own privacy policies.

Control and deletion

You can remove local extension data by clearing XButBetter’s extension storage or uninstalling it. For subscription or server-account questions, use the support page. Privacy and deletion requests can also be sent to support@xbutbetter.com.

Changes

Material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date. XButBetter will not quietly broaden data use beyond what is described on this page.
